Grand Canyon & Page Arizona Road Trip
For our 10 year anniversary we decided to do something a little crazy… we went on a 23 hour road trip to The Grand Canyon and Page, Arizona! (And, that’s one-way without stops!) I have Sabrina from the blog Gypsy Tan to thank for the majority of our itinerary - she did such an awesome job sharing what to do on our trip to the American Southwest. Check her out! Also, thank goodness for Pinterest making my travel planning SO much easier these days.
Our road trip definitely started out a little rough the first day… but don’t worry. It wasn’t anything tragic. We were out of the shop within an hour.🙃😆
Our first stop would be Colorado!
We tried to lighten the mood after our car trouble by pulling over for some fun pictures!
The Great Sand Dunes in Colorado
I’m SO glad we decided to stop at the Great Sand Dunes National Park in Colorado. It was one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen!
The Grand Canyon
The next stop was the Grand Canyon! The views were absolutely incredible, but it was constantly making my stomach drop to see people leaning over the edge for pictures!🙈
We camped the whole trip! Brent is more of a camping kind of person than me, but we loaded the tent with feather pillows and fuzzy blankets to make it more my vibe.😂
Lower Antelope Canyon
THIS has been on my bucket list for a few years and it was my favorite part of the trip. It was incredible. Antelope Canyon is located in Page, Arizona. From the surface it just looks like a crack in the ground, but you take stairs and ladders to go down into this magical canyon.✨ I definitely recommend adding it to your bucket list!
Horse Shoe Bend
The next stop was Horse Shoe Bend in Page, Arizona. I had so much fun wearing my Fabletics workout outfit that I scored a deal on - click here for the same deal - 2 leggings for $24 - Below I’m wearing the “Sarah Sculptknit Top” and the “High-Waisted PowerHold® 7/8” both in the color Persimmon. This was another fun, but stomach-turning activity for me. (I’m a sensitive being though!☺️)
Kayaking Lake Powell and Hiking Antelope Canyon
Our last day was spent kayaking Lake Powell and hiking through Antelope Canyon. We kayaked through a canal until we got to a hiking spot.
As we were going through the canal, some kayakers told us we should definitely make sure we hike at the end of the canal. Before we fully passed them, they laughed and said “beware of the mud pit!” I’m glad they said we should hike and mentioned the mud pit otherwise I don’t know if we would’ve gone through it!
Here’s Brent going through the mud pit, and me throwing the stick that helped me through the pit to the next people going through. It was a slimy good time!🤣
Hiking on this path was another trip highlight for me!
